TiE DC Promotes the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs with 5th Year of TYE Boot Camp and Business Plan Competition

TiE DC welcomed a new cohort of young entrepreneurs through the 2016 TiE Young Entrepreneurs (TYE) Boot Camp and Business Plan Competition. This marked the fifth year offering this free program for area high school students, supported by Platinum Sponsor Sanjay Govil of Infinite Computer Solutions and hosted by George Mason University’s Mahesh Joshi.
Twenty-three students attended Saturday sessions through February and March, covering product development, financial models, team building, sales and marketing, business plan development, fundraising, and pitch presentation skills.
Four teams competed in the April 9 business plan competition with concepts including College Pathway, ConnectVid, Penserazi, and Spry.
On May 22, Spry prevailed, earning representation at the global competition in Portland, Oregon. The team competed against 20 TiE chapter teams worldwide and won Best Elevator Pitch.
